Man dies in hospital after arriving at Hamilton gas station in critical condition

By News Staff

A man has died in hospital Sunday, after arriving at a Hamilton gas station with critical injuries early Friday morning.

It happened at a Pioneer gas station on Upper Centennial Road, north of Mud Street East, shortly before 2:30 a.m.

The victim, believed to be in his 30s, was reportedly covered in blood before he was rushed to hospital.

The Hamilton Spectator reports the man drove himself and police are still trying to determine where he sustained his injuries. Hamilton’s homicide unit took over the investigation late Saturday night when the man’s condition worsened.

As a result of his injuries, detectives were not able to speak with the man before he died to determine the cause of the injuries or confirm his identity.

This is Hamilton’s second homicide of the year. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

Anyone with information is asked to call Hamilton police or Crimestoppers.
