OTTAWA – Canada’s national annual inflation rate was 1.6 per cent in April, Statistics Canada says. Here’s what happened in the provinces and territories (previous month in brackets):
— Newfoundland and Labrador: 3.6 per cent (3.8)
— Prince Edward Island: 1.6 (1.7)
— Nova Scotia: 0.8 (1.3)
— New Brunswick: 2.7 (2.8)
— Quebec: 0.8 (0.9)
— Ontario: 1.9 (1.9)
— Manitoba: 1.6 (1.6)
— Saskatchewan: 1.4 (0.6)
— Alberta: 1.7 (1.3)
— British Columbia: 2.1 (2.0)
— Whitehorse, Yukon: 2.6 (2.7)
— Yellowknife, N.W.T.: 1.2 (1.5)
