2 men injured after light standard blows over at Beaches Rib Fest

Two men sustained serious injuries after a light standard fell on them at the Beaches Rib Fest Friday night.
Police were called to Woodbine Park around 9 p.m. following reports that lights had fallen due to high winds created when a thunderstorm swept through the GTA.
No word on the extent of the injuries to the men or whether they were workers at the event or attendees.
Paramedics say the two were taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
It’s uncertain what impact the accident will have on the remainder of rib fest, which began Friday afternoon.
