Hoarding issues found after highrise fire, man has life-threatening injuries

By News Staff

A man in his 60s is in life-threatening condition after a fire at a highrise apartment building.

The fire began on Mountview Avenue, near Bloor and Keele streets, around 10 a.m. on Monday.

Paramedics said the man’s injuries are due to smoke inhalation.

It’s not yet clear how the fire started, but a Toronto Fire spokesperson said Tuesday that hoarding was a factor for firefighters as they tried to put out the fire.
