Man arrested after woman, 70, found dead in Pickering home

A 71-year-old Pickering man has been arrested in connection with the death of woman found dead at a home in Pickering.
Emergency crews were called to the home on Brandy Court, near Brock and Taunton roads, around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
There, they found the body of 70-year-old Bodwatie Persaud.
Durham police say Ganesh Persaud has been charged with second-degree murder.
Police said the incident is domestic, and they are not looking for any other suspects. They have not said how the victim and suspect are related.
