Woman airlifted to hospital after being struck by car in Mississauga

A woman was airlifted to a trauma centre after being struck by a vehicle in Mississauga.

Police and emergency services were called to the intersection of Derry and Maxwell roads just before 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Paramedics say the woman suffered serious injuries and an air ambulance was called in to transport her to hospital.

Police later tweeted that her injuries were now considered non-life threatening.

The vehicle which struck the woman, believed to be a black SUV, remained on the scene.
