Vehicle in fatal hit-and-run found at auto body shop

Toronto police have found the vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run in North York last week.

A 63-year-old woman was walking on the sidewalk along York Mills Road, west of Don Mills Road, just after 11 p.m. on Oct. 4, when the vehicle jumped the curb and struck her. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other people were walking with the victim at the time, but they were not hurt.

Police said the vehicle, a grey, 2014 Nissan Rogue, was found at an auto repair shop on Friday. The vehicle had damage to the right front headlight, fog light area, and right side fender areas.

Investigators are still looking for the driver of the vehicle.

Police said the Rogue has the Ontario licence plate BVVH 900 and is registered to Erin Wright, 28, of Toronto.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the vehicle, the driver and/or occupants of the vehicle, between 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 4, at 10:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 5, is being asked to contact police at 416-808-1900.

As well, police are asking anyone who lives on the following streets to see if they have security video of the area around the above mentioned times.

  • Gordon Road
  • Munro Boulevard
  • Old Yonge Street
  • Owen Boulevard
  • Upper Highland Crescent
  • York Mills Road
