Police are reminding shoppers not to become a victim of robbery this holiday season.

The Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police and the Insurance Bureau of Canada are launching their annual “Lock It or Lose It” campaign at Yorkdale Shopping Centre on Thursday morning.

It is to remind drivers and passengers to keep their vehicles locked, and not to leave valuables like Christmas gifts in plain sight.

During the campaign, police and auxiliary officers will leave a small notice on vehicles where drivers may have forgotten to secure their valuables and give them prevention tips going forward.

It will officially kick off at 10:30 a.m. at Yorkdale’s Indigo entrance.
