Police in Durham Region continue to look for an 89-year old man who has been missing seen since Saturday.

A family member told police it appears James Pearson hasn’t been home since Saturday and they’re concerned for his safety, as he suffers from Alzheimer’s disease.

Police said Pearson does not drive and he is known to walk around Whitby.

According to police, Pearson may have been spotted at the McDonalds in Whitby near Brock Street and Highway 401, and that he could have boarded a GO train and travelled to Toronto.

He is described as male, white, with grey hair and five-foot-five-inches tall and approximately 110 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black Giants toque, a heavy, navy blue, down-filled coat that goes to his knees. He was possibly wearing track pants and running shoes.

Anyone with any information about Pearson’s whereabouts is asked to call Det. McFarlane of the Central West Criminal Investigations Bureau at 1-888-579-1520, etc. 1835.
