Man dies from injuries sustained in Etobicoke shooting

A man has died following a shooting in Etobicoke on Saturday night.

Police and paramedics responded to a call in the Mount Olive and Silverstone Drives area around 5:45 p.m.

Paramedics say a man in his 30s was taken to hospital via emergency run in critical condition.

Police reported Sunday morning that the victim had died in hospital and on Monday released his identity as Dwayne Anthony Vidal, 31, of Toronto. He died due to gunshot wounds to the back.

Police say multiple shell casings were found at the scene and they are looking for a male suspect, described as black and between five feet nine inches to six feet tall. He was wearing a black hoodie and had his face covered.
