Random drawing determines question order for #CityVote: The debate

Ontario’s three main political party leaders are set to square off in the first televised debate on Monday. On Thursday, a random draw determined the order in which each candidate will answer the six audience questions posed to them.

NDP leader Andrea Horwath will be the first of the three leaders to arrive for #CityVote: The debate followed by PC leader Doug Ford and Premier Kathleen Wynne.

The six audience questions posed during the 90 minute debate will focus on issues relevant to those who live and work in Toronto including policing, drugs, transit, education and real estate.

Each candidate will also get the chance to ask an additional question themselves.

Results of the random draw were as follows:

Question #1 on policing:
1. Andrea Horwath
2. Doug Ford
3. Kathleen Wynne

Question #2 on policing:
1. Doug Ford
2. Kathleen Wynne
3. Andrea Horwath

Question #3 on drugs:
1. Doug Ford
2. Kathleen Wynne
3. Andrea Horwath

Question #4 on transit:
1. Doug Ford
2. Kathleen Wynne
3. Andrea Horwath

Question #5 on education:

2. Doug Ford
3. Andrea Horwath

Question #6 on real estate:

2. Kathleen Wynne
3. Doug Ford

The debate takes place May 7, exactly one month before the province heads to the polls. Commercial-free coverage will begin at 6 p.m. live on City, CityNews.ca, the CityNews apps for iOS and Android and the CityNews Facebook page.

The debate will also be broadcast in Punjabi and Mandarin on OMNI 2.
