Woman charged after car crashes into parked school bus, killing passenger

A 23-year-old Mississauga woman has been charged after a crash in Etobicoke that left a passenger in her car dead.

The woman drove into the back of a parked school bus at Lake Shore Boulevard and 13th Street, near Kipling Avenue, around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

A 25-year-old man, who was a passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman was seriously hurt in the crash but her injuries are not life-threatening.

Keran Baraj has been charged with several offences, including impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, and criminal negligence causing death.

She was due in court on Thursday.

Police are asking local residents, businesses and drivers, who may have security or dash-cam footage of the incident, to call them.
