680 NEWS expands presence at Queen’s Park with reporter Richard Southern

Doug Ford is shaking things up at Queen’s Park and 680 NEWS is expanding its coverage there as a result.

Starting Monday, longtime business reporter Richard Southern will be a daily presence at Queen’s Park, telling you what you need to know.

“It’s very exciting to take on this new role at Queen’s Park, as it’s currently at the centre of the news storm,” says Southern.

He adds, ““I can’t wait to give 680 NEWS listeners a front row seat with me at Queens Park. I’m looking forward to continuing to seek out interesting stories while asking the tough questions”

This is a homecoming for Southern, who actually started as a Queen’s Park page when he was 12.

“Richard lives and breathes breaking news, so he will take his incredible work ethic and creativity to Queen’s Park and help keep listeners informed about what the new government is doing, in his trademark interesting and useful way,” 680 NEWS news director Amber LeBlanc says. “This is a total win for listeners who can count on Richard to let them know how every decision will impact them.”

Southern has covered some of the biggest stories in Toronto, including the Danforth shooting and the Sunrise Propane explosion.

680 NEWS is your breaking news, traffic and weather station, live 24-7.
