Driver flees after crash sends taxi into storefront

Police are investigating after a two-vehicle in the city’s downtown core caused a taxi to crash into a storefront.

It happened just after 5:30 a.m. on Thursday in the Adelaide Street East and Church Street area.

Paramedics said one person was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police said it’s believed one of the drivers fled the area on foot.

The collision is being investigated as a fail to remain.

Adelaide was closed for about an hour while police investigated. The area has since reopened.
