Sidewalk Furniture Sale Promises Bargains

Normally, you’d hear about somebody selling expensive goods on the street or out of their garage and think – fly by night or thief.

But sometimes looks can be deceiving.

Which is exactly the case with something called the Designer’s Walk sale.

Once a year, designers from across the country gather on Pears Ave. near Bedford Road offering some fabulous fabrics, rich rugs and even fantastic furniture at prices so drastically reduced, you may think you’re actually buying it from that guy in the back of the truck.

But this is the real deal. Only the prices seem false.

What can you expect?

“This would regularly sell anywhere from $60-200 a yard,” explains Style At Home editor Karl Lohnes, of some expensive looking material. “Here at the sale, probably anywhere from $8 to maybe $20 a yard.”

An area rug that normally fetches 3 grand can grace your floor for about $1,700-2,000.

And that’s just for starters.

Discounts can go as high as 75 percent for fabrics and accessories, giving you a chance to outfit your home with the same kind of materials only the richest can usually spring for.

“Area rugs are going to be drastically reduced, and these rugs are the best of the best,” Lohnes enthuses. “I mean, these are what designers buy for their million dollar clients and they’re going to be quite well reduced – probably 30, 40, 50 percent off.”

But like all good things, this deal won’t last. The sale is for one day only and it’s first come, first served.

Where can you find this too good to be true vendorama?

It will be held on Saturday, June 10th from 9am-3pm at:

Garage of Bldg. 5
160 Pears Ave.,
Bedford Rd.
and adjacent sidewalks.

And bring your swatches for some free advice from Lohnes. Like the sale itself, it’s a unique chance to hear what the pros have to say about your living room.

And you don’t even have to clean up first.
