Janet Jackson To Pose Topless On Magazine Cover

The world’s already seen plenty of Janet Jackson, but just in case some of us forgot her racy Rolling Stone cover or her stunt with Justin Timberlake during the Super Bowl halftime show a few years back, the singer is about to offer a reminder that’s sure to be tough to avoid.
When the newest issue of Vibe Magazine hits newsstands on August 15, fans and readers will get a new look at the 40-year-old topless on the front, showing off a body that recently shed 60 pounds.
On the cover she poses wearing a skimpy bikini bottom and a necklace made of large shells while her right arm covers her breasts. All that, and this might not even be the last peek.
“Of course. When I’m 80,” she says. “That’s when I’ll call it quits.”
Jackson says she did the cover and interview to unveil her new look, promote her new album and prove the Super Bowl incident – sometimes referred to as “Nipplegate” – is ancient history.
Jackson credits her boyfriend, 33-year-old producer Jermaine Dupri, with giving her self-esteem “a little boost.”
“I came to realize that younger men had less of a problem with who I am than older men,” she says.
“With the younger guys, there was less ego. Things were less competitive. They weren’t threatened by who made more and who made less.”
And for those that think the duo are a strange, ill-fated match, the singer has some strong words to the contrary.
“When I look at Jermaine, I see myself,” Jackson says.
“I feel as if I’m looking in the mirror. The connection I feel with him I have never felt with anybody else.”
Jackson’s new record, “20 Y.O.,” is slated for release September 26 and features a few tracks produced by Dupri along with Jimmy “Jam” Harris and Terry Lewis.
She’d packed on extra weight for a role in the upcoming film “Tennessee,” which she was scheduled to star in but ultimately passed on because of the album’s release.
And yet, when asked if she’d rather have a hit album or win an Oscar she said: “Win an Oscar. It’s just a passion. But can’t I have both? Everybody in my family says I’m spoiled anyway. I want both.”
