Second BT Viewer Appreciation Day A Smash Success

Breakfast Television fans were up before the sun Friday for the second annual Viewer Appreciation Day.

The lineup was substantial before Toronto’s number one morning show even went on the air – some die-hard fans began queuing up as early as 5:30pm Thursday.

They came prepared with everything they’d need for the overnight wait.

“I brought a television, I got my cooler. I got cucumbers and tomatoes, a knife and fork, bottled water, juice,” detailed BT viewer Joanne Lawryshayn.

Lawryshayn was undoubtedly one of the first 100 viewers inside the gates to receive a gift bag full of goodies.

This year’s BT Viewer Appreciation Day was even bigger and brighter than last year, with musical performances, an inflatable castle, balloon animals, hockey and baseball practice areas, and a garden centre where Frankie Flowers, aka Frank Ferragine, offered plant advice.

It didn’t take long before the Citytv parking lot was packed to the limits.

And for those who brought an appetite, there were burgers, hot dogs and corn-on-the-cob.

All in all it was an immensely successful morning – if you didn’t make it this time, there’s always next year.
