Jennifer Aniston Denies Engagement Rumours

The former “Friends” star says she felt compelled to speak out after a popular celebrity magazine reported she was engaged to Vince Vaughan. She said the story, published in US Magazine, is false.

“I’m not engaged, and I don’t have a ring, and I haven’t been proposed to,” Aniston told People Magazine.

Aniston’s reported engagement has been making headlines and she became concerned when mainstream media outlets started picking up the story.

“The only reason I’m saying something is because if we’re listening to the news we’re supposed to be believing in the news,” she said.

It has been widely reported that Aniston and Vaughan have been romantically involved since they filmed “The Break-Up” last year, but the actress hasn’t divulged many details about their relationship.

“We’re just being,” she told People. “We’re having a good time.”

US reported that Vaughan popped the question on June 27 on a private jet after a Mexican vacation. Aniston disputes the claim, but the magazine is sticking to its story.

“US Weekly based its story on lengthy interviews with four separate and independent sources close to the couple, including two who learned of the engagement directly from Vince Vaughn,” the magazine said in a statement Wednesday. “Jennifer’s publicist never denied the engagement in advance of publication.”

Aniston was married to Brad Pitt, who is now involved with Angelina Jolie. Pitt and Jolie have three children, including their biological daughter who was born in May.
