Paris Hilton Arrested On Suspicion Of DUI

Hotel heiress Paris Hilton was arrested early Thursday after police suspected she was driving under the influence.

Hilton was pulled over in Hollywood at about 12:30am after an officer reportedly saw her “driving erratically.”

“The officers observed that Hilton exhibited the symptoms of intoxication. A field sobriety test was conducted at scene, and the officers determined she was driving under the influence,” read the police statement.

The TV star, who recently released her debut album, had reportedly spent the day shooting a music video and was driving home from a charity event in her Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren when she was pulled over. She was booked on suspicion of misdemeanor DUI and released.

Hilton’s spokesperson Elliot Mintz confirmed she’d been arrested and that police had detected the minimum blood-alcohol level to warrant such action. The legal limit in California is 0.08 per cent.

“She’s absolutely fine,” Mintz said. “She didn’t appear in the least bit to be intoxicated.”

Mintz said that Hilton had only had one drink, a margarita, at the charity event and the DUI symptoms were “probably the result of an empty stomach and working all day and being fatigued.”

Her sister Nicky and Nicky’s boyfriend, actor Kevin Connolly, picked Hilton up from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollywood station.

In June, Hilton had a fender-bender accident when her Range Rover backed into a car in a parking garage.
