Sept. 30 – StreetBeat – Parkdale Shooting

A man has been arrested after an early morning shooting in Parkdale.

Police were called to Dunn Avenue around 5am Saturday morning where they found a man on the street suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

So far no names have been released and there’s no word on charges.


Downtown Sex Assault

Toronto Police are trying to track down a suspect after a sexual assault downtown early Saturday.

Authorities say a woman was grabbed around 1:30am as she walked along King Street at Parliament. The victim fought back and the suspect ran off.

Investigators are looking for a man described as brown or black with an average build in his early to mid 20s.

Early Morning Crash

Two people were sent to hospital after a crash in the east end early Saturday.

A car slammed into a pole near McNicoll and Brahms Avenue and one of the two victims was apparently trapped in the wreckage for more than an hour as emergency crews worked to free him.

Authorities say both victims are expected to recover from their injuries.


Fatal Collision

An SUV going the wrong way on Highway 11 is being blamed for a fatal crash in Orillia Saturday.

A 38-yr old man and a 20-yr-old woman from Newmarket died when the driver of a Chevy Blazer hit an on-coming car.


Shelter Crash

A woman in her 80s was taken to hospital Saturday night after her car crashed into another car and ended up in a bus shelter on Bloor Street near the West Mall. Police believe her injuries are not life-threatening and say no one else was hurt.
