It’s a frightening diagnosis, but actress Farah Fawcett is keeping a positive attitude after she recently learned she has cancer.
The 59-year-old former Charlie’s Angels star has a fast-growing tumour, according to her publicist Mike Pingel, but he didn’t reveal what type of cancer Fawcett has.
“I am determined to bite the bullet and fight the fight while going through the next six weeks of cutting edge, state-of-the-art treatment,” Fawcett said in a statement. “I should be able to return to my life as it was before.”
The actress says she has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from people around the world since her diagnosis and said that is helping her to keep a positive attitude about her battle with the disease. She says she expects to recover completely.
“I deeply believe in one’s own positive will to overcome even the most daunting challenges,” she said.
Fawcett was last seen on an Emmy tribute to the late television producer Aaron Spelling with her Charlie’s Angels co-stars.
