Wesley Snipes Could Face 16 Years In Jail On Tax Charges

But for Hollywood star Wesley Snipes, this isn’t a flick. It’s real life. And this story may not have a happy ending.

The actor, famous for roles in films such as “Blade”, “New Jack City”, “White Men Can’t Jump” and the ironically named “Money Train”, has been indicted on eight counts of tax fraud.

He’s accused of taking a staggering $12 million from the U.S. government in false refund claims and failing to file tax returns for six years.

The charges contend that Snipes hired accountants who were less than scrupulous and made their reputations by filing false returns to reap the maximum payouts for their clients. The papers claim those auditors would then recoup 20 percent of the ill-gotten gains for their troubles.

You don’t fool with the IRS in the U.S. without paying for it. If convicted of the very serious charges against him, Snipes could take on a recurring role as a convict, facing 16 years in prison.
