Security Still Leads To The Arrest Of A Nightclub Shooting Suspect

But it was enough to net police a suspect in a weekend shooting.

Cops have been hunting the man who opened fire on two patrons at a Pearl St. nightclub on December 24th.

A man and a woman were hit around 2:40am as they came out of the establishment, in what detectives believe may have been a random incident.

They put out a grainy picture of a male they termed a “person of interest” in the case and asked anyone who recognized him to call them. A few members of the public did and once cops had a name, it didn’t take them long to track down the person they were hunting for.

They’ve arrested a 25-year-old Toronto resident named Luigi Lotufo and charged him with a series of serious offences, including careless and unauthorized use of a firearm, assault with a weapon and weapons dangerous.

He made his first court appearance Friday morning at Old City Hall Courts.

Police still haven’t said what the motive for the crime may have been.
