Woman & Young Daughter Stabbed In Apparent Domestic Dispute

A man is facing attempted murder charges after he allegedly attacked his wife and seven-year-old daughter with a knife at their Mississauga apartment and then turned the weapon on himself.

Police were called to the home at 1035 Windsor Hill Blvd. around 2am Saturday morning after a stabbing was reported.

Authorities found the 44-year-old mother collapsed in a neighbour’s apartment. She apparently stumbled there after she was attacked and called for help. Police then checked the family’s fourth floor unit and found the seven-year-old girl suffering from stab wounds and a 15-year-old boy who was unharmed.

Officers also found the 38-year-old husband and father in the bathroom suffering from apparently self-inflicted stab wounds.

The woman is in hospital listed in stable condition, the youngster was treated and released and the suspect was treated and is in police custody. He was scheduled to appear in a Brampton court Saturday afternoon. The Children’s Aid Society has been contacted to assist in this case.

No names have been released. The suspect is charged with two counts of attempted murder and two counts of aggravated assault.
