York Regional Police got some help from an eye in the sky in their efforts to catch a suspect who bolted from a home in Richmond Hill early Saturday.
Heat sensing equipment on the force’s helicopter picked up the officers as they jumped a fence behind a home and cornered the suspect in a neighbouring back yard.
They’d been called to the residence about an outstanding warrant. A 27-year-old man faces numerous charges.
Industrial Blaze
Toronto firefighters were sent racing toward the waterfront Saturday, when a three-alarm blaze broke out at an industrial building at around 1:45pm.
They were called out to 560 Commissioners, east of Carlaw, to a plant that produces shingles and roofing supplies.
The fire was reportedly contained to the building’s inside, but few details on the damage total are available.
