Bingo-ing To Jail

Leticia Villareal Garcia isn’t your average grandmother.
The 62-year-old Arizona woman’s been sentenced to three years in prison after state troopers said they found more than 200 pounds of marijuana in the trunk of her car.
Prosecutors say Garcia ran illegal drugs to support her bingo habit, an obsession she admits to, saying she sometimes won several thousand dollars at a time.
But Garcia maintains her innocence on the dope dealing charge, saying someone borrowed her car the day before she was arrested.
She could’ve gotten more than 12 years in prison, but prosecutors agreed to a much lighter sentence based on the grandma’s age and lack of a record.
In the meantime, her beloved bingo games have temporarily gone up in smoke.
