Three Toronto Men Killed In Cottage Country Crash

A crash in cottage country Thursday night claimed the lives of three young men from Toronto and left a young woman the sole and miraculous survivor.
The accident happened around 7pm just east of Minett, near Bracebridge, when a car reportedly hit the guardrail on Peninsula Road, spun out into some trees and plunged into the Joseph River.
Three of the four people in the car were killed. They’re identified as Tyler Mulcahy and Cory Mintz, both 20, and 19-year-old Kourosh Totonchian.
“To see the devastation, it’s really sad,” one area resident said Friday, where the only remaining sign of the tragedy was the mangled guard rail metal still clinging to the roadside.
The fourth passenger, 19-year-old Nastasia Elzinga, somehow managed to free herself from the vehicle and was taken to hospital where she was treated for minor injuries and released.
Police say the road was clear and dry at the time of the accident and are investigating whether speed or alcohol were factors.
