Don’t let you kids use your cell phone for too long.
That was the message from Toronto Public Health Saturday, warning that a lack of knowledge about the long-term effects on children could prove damaging down the road.
Several European counties have put in place precautionary policies, but this is supposedly the first caution of its kind in Canada.
The report advises kids to use landlines instead of the portable devices or when using a cell, keep the calls short or use a headset.
Still, cell phone industry experts deny radio frequencies from cell phones pose any health risk and Health Canada has never issued any warnings about cell phone risks to children.
