Toronto City Council Overwhelmingly Backs Obama

We know who the majority of Canadians would vote for if they could cast a ballot in the U.S. election. Barack Obama was the overwhelming choice of 85 per cent of Canucks asked on their preference for the new American president.

And the division between the left and the right and those in between is just as obvious at Toronto City Council. Most acknowledge that the sometimes divisive chamber leans solidly to the left, so it won’t surprise many that Obama has the support of the vast majority of the people who run the city.

The poll was put together by Ryerson student Alexandra Hunnings, who published the results in the university’s newspaper and shared them with CityNews.ca. Here’s who your local councillor would like to see in the White House when all the shouting and counting is done.
