Child Struck By Unmarked Police Car Released From Hospital

A boy taken to hospital Monday afternoon after being struck by an unmarked police car has been treated and released.

The collision occurred near Keele St. and Glenlake Ave. at about 2:45pm.

The 12-year-old was skateboarding through the intersection against a red light, officers allege.

He was brought to the Hospital for Sick Children to be treated for his injuries. He has since been released.

It’s unclear if the officer was responding to a call when the crash happened.

The provincial S.I.U. will not be called in to probe the case because the boy’s injuries are not considered serious.

Keele St. was closed in the area for a time but has since reopened.
