Police Release More Details In City’s 36th Murder

Investigators have released more details in the city’s 36th murder of the year.

Tevane Sean Lennon, 22, was shot in the back on August 10.

He had left Melody Village Junior School, located near Martin Grove Road and Finch Avenue, on his bicycle and was heading home to his wife around 10:30pm.

Lennon had gone to pick up groceries for his family. He and his wife had a three-year-old daughter, and Lennon also had a seven-year-old step-daughter.

He himself was an only child.

Lennon never arrived home.

Emergency crews found his body in the middle of the road on Bagwell Crescent just before 11pm .

He was without vital signs and despite the best efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead as the ambulance raced to hospital.

The cause of death was a gunshot wound to the back that perforated his heart. At least 12 shots were fired and not all of them hit Lennon.

Some of them hit homes in the area, and one shattered the window of a car parked in a driveway (pictured).

Luckily, no one else was injured.

Witnesses reported hearing an argument coming from the schoolyard, and many men were allegedly involved.

Police are looking for a car that left the school at approximately the same time that Lennon also departed.

Lennon apparently exchanged words with people in the car on Sultan Pool Drive.

Shots were fired from the vehicle and the driver took off, heading south.

There were at least three people inside that car, and possibly more, witnesses described.

Officers are looking for that car, as well as the people inside.
