In Photos: ‘Inglourious Basterds’ Toronto Red Carpet

Quentin Tarantino paid a visit to Toronto last week for the Canadian premiere of his fictional World War II film Inglourious Basterds. The film, about a group of American-Jewish soldiers dropped into France as civilians to kill Nazis, is a tour-de-force of dialogue and violence that is easily one of Tarantino’s best films.

During the red carpet event at the Scotiabank Theatre Tarantino spoke about the film as if he’s had to defend it recently.

“If you like my movies…this is one of my movies. It’s just dealing in the World War II genre as opposed to the crime genre or martial arts genre.”

“It’s my take on World War II…the story I haven’t seen yet.”

The reality is critics seem to love it and as a fan of his work I would put it right beside Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill.

CityNews.ca’s Michael Talbot photographed the event which also included fellow director and Basterd cast member Eli Roth.
