Demolition Starts On Homes In Vaughan More Than A Week After Tornado Touches Down

Monday marked an emotional start to the week in Woodbridge, as the demolition of tornado-ravaged homes began for several families.

Understandably, homeowners found it painful to watch their dreams being demolished, especially with memories of the twister so fresh in their minds.

The worst-damaged homes of the roughly 600 that took a hit during the violent weather of less than two weeks ago are on Houston Road. At least three homes are confirmed to be slated for demolition with two more still pending.

These will surely be difficult days for anyone in the area, watching the homes of friends and neighbours reduced to rubble.

Damage from the storm is still being tallied, but no doubt will be in the millions of dollars.

CityNews reporter Pam Seatle spoke with some of the affected Monday. See her story below.
