Quebec Police Search Forest After Report Of Downed Cessna-type Plane

MONTREAL – Provincial police are searching a wooded area in Quebec’s Laurentians after a witness reported seeing a small airplane fall from the sky.

Sgt. Benoit Richard says a police helicopter is scanning an area near the village of Ste-Agathe-des-Monts for any signs of a downed aircraft. Richard says he has yet to receive information that an airplane has gone missing in the area.

He says a resident called police to report that he saw a Cessna-type plane drop out of the sky less than a kilometre from a major road.
