OPP Officer Cleared In Fellow Cop’s Death

An OPP officer has been cleared in the death of her colleague.

Const. Lynn Neale was behind the wheel in a crash that killed Const. Alan Hack.

The collision happened on July 6 near Rodney, ON. The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) found that the provincial cruiser collided with a tractor trailer after Neale ran a stop sign.

She was acquitted of any criminal wrong-doing.

The SIU said that Neale likely never saw the truck due to her focus on a suspect, adding that she did nothing a “reasonable person” in a similar situation wouldn’t have.

Hack, 31, was in the back seat and neither he nor Neale was wearing a seatbelt. Both were thrown from the cruiser.
