Five-Year-Old Child Hit By School Bus

A five-year-old boy was rushed to hospital, reportedly with serious head injuries, after he was struck by a school bus in Etobicoke Wednesday.
It happened around 7:30am in front of Lakeshore Collegiate at 350 Kipling Ave. The bus was apparently travelling at about 50 km/h when it hit the boy. Birmingham Street was closed in the area all morning for the police investigation.
“It was pitch-black too and they all ran out in the street and the little boy’s shoe came off and he fell,” recalled a witness named Dave. “By that time it was too late … it hit the little boy and the little boy skidded on his back pack into the middle of the road.”
The youngster, who was apparently talking when placed in the ambulance, was taken to the Hospital for Sick Children.
