Alleged Drunk Driver Charged In Fatal Crash To Appear In Court

The 21-year-old man accused of impaired driving that caused the crash that killed three women earlier this month is due to appear in court again Friday.

Roman Luskin faces 16 charges, including three counts of criminal negligence causing death and three of impaired driving causing death.

Police allege his BMW was travelling close to 200 km/h when it collided with a minivan at Finch Avenue West and Tobermory Drive. The Oct. 18 crash claimed the lives of Hon To, 44, her 24-year-old daughter, Khan (Christine) Taing, and a female family friend.

Funerals for the three women were held Saturday.

The minivan, carrying the three women, To’s husband, Pho Taing, and a fourth woman who remains in hospital, was torn in half. The family and friends were on their way home from church when the accident happened.

Luskin is expected to appear in court via video link.
