Doug Dunford recalls the first moment he had to treat his son’s diabetes.
When his child was just three years old, Dunford was forced to inject a needle into his arm.
“It was just heartbreaking,” he said.
Dunford’s second son, Simon, also has juvenile diabetes.
“It’s hard at times,” Simon admitted on Friday.
But there’s hope.
The pair were at CityNews to talk about a new book that will raise money to fight the disease.
Chucky The Lonely Inukshuk is illustrated by many Canadian luminaries – Loretta Rogers, the widow of Ted Rogers, contributed three paintings – and is in stores now.
