Five Arrests In Murder Of Andre Daley

Five men have been arrested in connection to a fatal shooting outside a North York restaurant a month and a half ago.

Andre Daley, 29, was killed just after 3am on Oct. 18 in front of First Choice Restaurant on Keele Street, near Sheppard Avenue.

There were dozens of people in the parking lot, heading back to their cars after a birthday party, when two groups apparently opened fired on each other.  Five people, in all, were hit.  Daley, a married father of three, was the only one who didn’t survive.

Police admitted shortly after the crime they were surprised more people weren’t hit, as the alleged gunmen showed no regard for the party-goers.

Investigators executed a series of search warrants in the northwest area of the city, which resulted in the five arrests Wednesday. The following suspects are all charged with first-degree murder:

  • Rohan Shiwshankar, 25, of Woodbridge,
  • Yovidra Shiwshankar, of Woodbridge,
  • Anthony Nelson, 35, of Toronto,
  • Napoleon Rochester, 34, of Toronto,
  • Arraf Kassim, 26, of Toronto

They were all scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning.
