Three people have been arrested after a high-speed police chase early Saturday morning.
At about 1:30am, officers on patrol spotted a minivan that had been reported as stolen. When the driver fled, police gave chase, but it soon became dangerous and they called it off.
A short time later, officers located the vehicle again near Derry Road and Highway 410. The driver and two passengers fled on foot, but with the help of the tactical and canine units, they caught the suspects.
The female driver and her two male passengers were arrested and treated for hypothermia at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga. One of the men also received minor injuries to his lower body.
Because it’s not clear whether or not the injuries occurred as a result of the police chase, the province’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating.
