For the third day in a row, Canadians lined GTA streets to catch a glimpse of the Olympic Torch as it passed through southern Ontario.
Leafs GM Brian Burke stepped out from behind the bench today, carrying the flame through Etobicoke.
And crowds of supporters cheered on Mayor Hazel McCallion as she carried the torch in Mississauga. The 88-year-old jogged the standard 400 metres before passing the flame to the next torchbearer.
“This is a very, very special privilege. I’m such a proud Canadian today. O Canada!” she said.
On Sunday, the torch will make its way from Hamilton to Niagara Falls, via St. Catharines.
