StreetBeat – Jan. 11 – Police Search For Suspect After Etobicoke Shooting

A 21-year-old man is expected to survive after a shooting Sunday night in the west end.

The victim was shot in the parking lot of a TD bank at Islington and Rathburn Road around 8:30pm.

Police are still searching for the gunman.


Single-Car Crash

A single-car crash brought down a utility pole on the ramp from Dixie Road to the eastbound 401 early Monday.

Peel and OPP officers responded to the crash around 4am. The driver wasn’t hurt but was taken into custody.

There’s no word on charges.


Broken Water Main

A broken water main closed down Albion Road early Monday, but the road has since reopened.

The pipe burst around 5am Monday just west of Islington.


Police Searching For Missing Boy

Toronto Police are searching for a boy who has been missing for several days.

Tendai Nyembe-Mafohla, 14, was last seen in the Lawrence Avenue East and Orton Park Road area on January 7.

Nyembe-Mafohla (pictured below) is described as:

  • black
  • 5’7″-5’9″
  • 141 lbs. 
  • He was last seen wearing a black leather jacket and black jeans.

Police are concerned for his safety.
