The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is warning people not to eat a certain type of salad mix because it may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
The recalled product is Compliments brand Italian Blend salad mix sold in 284-gram packages with a best-before date of January 18th.
It was imported by Sobey’s, and sold in Alberta, Manitoba, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland and Labrador.
There are no reports of anyone becoming ill after eating the product.
The agency says food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled.
However, it warns that food contaminated with this bacteria may cause listeriosis, a potentially serious foodborne illness.
