Shots Fired Again At Mississauga Nightclub

Police are searching for a male suspect after shots were fired at a Mississauga nightclub for the second time in three weeks.

Two men got into a fight around 2:45am Friday inside the Body English Night Club on Eglinton Ave. E., when one allegedly pulled a handgun from his waistband and began shooting at the ceiling and into the crowd. He fled on foot before officers arrived.

He’s described as black, 5 feet 7 inches tall, approximately 20 years old, with a slim build and shaved head.

The victim, a 24-year-old Brampton man, suffered minor injuries, but no one else was hurt in the incident.

In an unrelated incident on Christmas Day, a man got into a scuffle with the club’s bouncers. He left, but police say he returned a short time later armed with a handgun and forced his way into the club. Once inside, he reportedly assaulted two people and fired his gun into the air before fleeing in a vehicle.

On Friday, officers arrested 27-year-old Avni Cermjani of Stoney Creek and charged him with several weapons offences. He was scheduled to appear in a Brampton Court on Saturday.
