Future Of Toronto Grace Hospital Up In The Air: Report

The future of Toronto Grace Hospital is reportedly up in the air.

The Salvation Army told the province it no longer wants to run the hospital. The charitable organization has been running the facility since 1889, but told the government it wants to get out of the hospital business, according to the Toronto Star.

Toronto Grace is a 119-bed facility that specializes in palliative care and employs 270 people. It sits on prime land on Church near Bloor Street.

Officials from the provincial health ministry reportedly plan to put out a request for proposals from possible new owners next month.
