Ontario May Allow Online Gambling

If the new chairman of the OLG has his way, Ontario will soon allow online gambling.
National Post CEO Paul Godfrey took over the position on February 19 and is already pressuring Premier Dalton McGuinty to allow Internet betting in the province.
Godfrey argued that Ontario is watching potential revenues go to other provinces and offshore websites.
In Canada, British Columbia and Atlantic lottery corporations already allow online gambling and Quebec plans to follow their lead.
McGuinty says Ontario will be forced to make a call on it one way or the other, adding he’s glad the issue has been raised.
Meanwhile, the Opposition says the government would need to make sure there are controls in place to protect young people.
