Police Searching For Suspect Following Raid On Alleged Meth Lab

Several suspects were arrested this week after police raided an alleged meth lab in Markham, but authorities are still searching for one man who they describe as armed and dangerous.

Officers executed six search warrants at residences across Markham on Tuesday, including 56 Peter St., near 16th Avenue and Highway 48, where the alleged drug lab was uncovered.

Police claim they also seized a quantity of cash and stolen jewelry during the raids. Nine people – six men and three women – are facing several charges, including extortion, threatening death, and conspiracy to produce methamphetamine.

The haul allegdly included $615,000 in Canadian currency, $45,000 in US currency, four vehicles, a quantity of chemicals used for the production of methamphetamine, approximately 1,000,000 pills containing Ephedrine, a quantity of methamphetamine, diamonds, Rolex watches and expensive jewellery.

Lin Liu, 28, Ling Cheng, 39, Tow Chan, 42, Amyn Mohamed, 42, Azeem Anand, 31, Sharem Wartan, 42, Yuan Chen, 42, and Yin Chow, 46 are scheduled to appear in court Wednesday morning.

  •  Conspiracy to commit indictable offence
  • Extortion
  • Forcible Confinement
  • Threatening Death
  • Traffic in controlled substance scheduled I or II
  • Possession for the Purpose controlled substance
