Talking With The Director Of ‘Bitch Slap’

Director Rick Jacobson knew what ingredients he wanted his first feature film to include — hot girls, violence, action, and stuff blowing up. What he delivered was Bitch Slap, a movie about big breasted women kicking butt, blowing stuff up and looking sexy the entire time. And like the films it references (mainly the classic 1965 Russ Meyer cult hit Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!) you’ll be questioning if it’s exploitation or female empowerment. Whether you love it or hate it, one thing for certain is that it’s hard to deny it was probably a fun film to make.

CityNews.ca spoke with Jacobson during last year’s Toronto International Film Festival where Bitch Slap was playing as part of the Midnight Madness programme. We chatted about how the idea of Bitch Slap came to be, what he was looking for in his three leading ladies (pictured above), and who inspires him as a director. Watch the full interview below.

Bitch Slap is available on DVD and Blu-ray on April 6. More information on the film can be found at bitchslapmovie.com.
