Col. Russell Williams Reportedly On Hunger Strike

Just days after he reportedly failed to take his own life, accused murderer and former CFB Trenton commander Colonel Russell Williams apparently started a hunger strike.

The 47-year-old stopped eating Tuesday, according to a report in the Kingston Whig-Standard. He hasn’t made any demands relating to his hunger strike. A psychiatrist who evaluated Williams said he simply wants to die, the report states.

Williams is being held at the Quinte Detention Centre in Napanee, Ont.

The former commander, accused of murdering Jessica Lloyd and Marie France-Comeau and sexually assaulting two others, tried to take his own life over the Easter weekend by jamming a toilet paper roll stuffed with foil down his throat. He wrote a suicide note on the wall of his cell in mustard.

After that incident Williams was placed on a 24-hour suicide watch.
