Durham police have arrested two men wanted for a violent home invasion Saturday night.

Around 9pm, the suspects allegedly attacked a 30-year-old Whitby man in his Mary St. apartment, stabbing him in the face with kitchen utensils.

While in a local hospital being treated for his injuries, the victim provided a description of the suspects to police and told them the pair had demanded cash and fled on foot.

Within minutes, officers caught up with the men, who were walking on Chestnut St. But when approached, the men ran in different directions.

The police helicopter tracked one suspect to the CP rail tracks after he tried to escape by running through backyards. The other was arrested nearby about 20 minutes later.

Tristan Myers, 25, of no fixed address and Shaeyon Clarke, 22, of Royal Salisbury Way in Brampton have been charged with break, enter and commit robbery; aggravated assault; assault with a weapon; and weapons dangerous.
